I have a dear friend coming on the podcast who is an amazing example of teaching in so many different ways. She pushes herself to be her best, and she knows she may be required to push through discomfort of being a first-timer, and the mistakes of being a beginner. She’s one of my favorites on planet Earth and I know you’ll love her like I do.
Tawni Beardall is a family woman and friend. She is the cohost of the podcast Becoming for Teens and she is one of the best teachers I know. She is always pushing herself to learn new things and grow in new ways and she is an amazing example of loving the process for the outcomes sake.
"It’s about being comfortable in your own skin and being able to push myself out of my comfort zone and accomplish something and it feels good.”
“Learning things on Youtube—figuring things out for yourself. Tawni learned how to crochet, learned how to can peaches, and has turned to Youtube because she has tried it once and knows that she can make it work for herself again and again.
Practice building the connections of “I CAN”. I can be more playful, I can figure that out, I can be a more fun mom, I can figure out how to pay off debt and still work toward a vacation, I can plant a garden, I can get that real estate license. WHatever you WANT to do, there is a way for you to learn how to DO it.
Create your own cheering section for yourself, and make sure others feel that too. Cheer others on, and find joy in passing light and love.
Tawni’s podcast is Becoming for Teens, and she started recording it because she wished someone would have told her these same things as a teenager. Her hopes that she can help lighten the load, or help with understanding heavy topics personifies how great Tawni is at seeing a need and filling it. I hope you’ll refer any teens you know that need a little light in their lives.
